To learn meditation is not difficult.

You sit in a quiet place for 10 – 40 minutes and focus on your breathing, a sound, a chant or mantra. Whether you use a mantra or chant or not is entirely up to you and what you’re comfortable with.

What is a mantra?

The Sanskrit word mantra comes from the root “man” – which means “to think” (or, in manas “mind”) and the suffix “tra” – which means “tool.” Literally, a “mantra” means an “instrument of thought”.

When you repeat a sound, such as OM (rhymes with home) or Ara Kara (AH-ruh KAH-ruh) there is a vibration you’ll feel from the sound if you say it out loud. Mantras are effective whether you say them out loud (soft verbal chanting) or whether you repeat them mentally, silently in your mind. That’s the simple part.

When You Learn Meditation, Quieting the Mind is More Difficult Than Quieting the Body

If you’ve tried meditating, you know what often happens. You turn off the phone. Dim the lights. Perhaps you light a scented candle or incense if you find scent to be calming. For the first few minutes, all goes well. Then the mind chatter starts. And your foot goes numb. And your arm gets itchy. So now you’re squirming and wondering how long it’s been. Ooops. You start the chant again. Quieting your body is easy. Quieting the mind is not quite as easy. That’s the hard part of trying to learn meditation.

Tips For Learning Meditation

There are so many benefits to learning meditation that it’s worth your while to persist. These tips will help you learn meditation successfully;

Don’t meditate on a full stomach. Wait an hour or two after eating before meditating. Don’t meditate with candy or food in your mouth. Choose an uncluttered area for meditation. Surroundings affect state of mind. Turn off the phone and eliminate any potential distractions Dim the lights if possible. If you find scent to be relaxing, light a scented candle or incense. Learn meditation gradually. Start with 10-15 minutes and work up over time. Meditation Music & Brain Entrainment

Many people find that meditation music helps clear the mind. Gentle tracks without lyrics, such as nature sounds or music specifically for meditation can help you train your brain to relax.

In addition to relaxation meditation, there are audio tracks that will help you entrain your mind to achieve different responses from deep relaxation to improved concentration, and intense focus. It’s as simple as putting on an audio track and just listening. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

With all the guided meditation CD products on the market today you might think that they are a sure fire way to revolutionizing your life, right? Well, yes and no…

Are you confused? Let me explain: The benefits of meditation are undeniable. I mean, for literally thousands of years now meditation techniques have been helping people to develop a state of tranquility, calmness, and inner peace, and also to help them grow as a person on many levels.

Ok, so because meditation can be highly beneficial, it stands to reason that listening to guided meditation CD’s should also be highly beneficial as well right?

Well, that all depends on a few different things:

1. What is your purpose for meditating?
2. The quality and effectiveness of the guided meditation you listen to

Now, for the sake of this article I am just going to assume that most people are looking to meditate to become more relaxed, reduce stress and to work towards achieving an overall state of well being in their lives. That would be pretty good right?

To achieve this, you would actually be pretty safe in purchasing a large percentage of the guided meditation CD products on the market today, simply because they are typically made up of soothing music and sometimes have a person guiding you with words into a meditative state. So far so good.

Will these products work? Generally speaking yes. If you listen to them on a daily basis and practice meditating with them you will definitely get benefits, as long as you are effective at focusing and quieting your mind down into a deeply relaxed state.

Now, this is where a lot of people run into trouble! They simply cannot allow their minds to ‘let go’ or to keep the ‘mind chatter’ at bay long enough to actually quiet their mind and receive the benefits they are seeking from doing the meditation in the first place…

So if you are the type of person that has trouble focusing on things, relaxing and keeping your mind from being overactive (which is a large percentage of the population!) then purchasing the usual type of guided meditation products can actually be a bit of a waste of time and money for you! I mean, over time you might be able to get better at meditating and get some benefit, but the cold hard reality is that a lot of people get fed up with the whole thing and give up before they have really gotten anywhere…

Now, how can you overcome this common problem with meditation? Simply by choosing to practice using a specific type of guided meditation, that is scientifically based, proven and can in fact be guaranteed to guide your mind down into the deep meditative states of mind that you are seeking!

Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Well, the type of meditation I am talking about uses special audio technology to ‘train your brain’ using scientifically based frequencies woven into soothing sound tracks that will after just 6 minutes of listening to them, will guide your mind into specific brainwave frequencies that provide you with all the amazing benefits of meditation!

The best part is, because this type of recording is engineered to guide your mind automatically into the right brainwave state, you don’t have to worry about whether or not you are meditating effectively or not… The hard work is all done for you! You just simply put on your headphones, kick back relax and listen and let your mind be taken where it needs to go!

When we meditate our brain waves actually change. The frequency of these waves lower so that we are able to experience higher levels of consciousness, altered states of mind as well as experience the extreme benefits that go along with that. Unfortunately to be able to experience these low frequencies it often takes many years of practice and discipline.

When we are in our everyday awake state we are in the Beta state. When we first start to meditate the goal is to get from the Beta state to the Alpha state. Alpha brain waves allow us to experience higher levels of cognitive learning.

It can be extremely difficult for a beginner meditator to experience the benefits of Alpha waves because of the time and patience it takes to get there. We literally need to be able to put our conscious mind aside, stop the mind chatter, relax in a quiet environment and deep breathe. Then we need to practice that over and over again… it is easier said then done.

After we have experienced Alpha waves the ultimate goal is to experience Theta waves. The Theta state is where all those experienced with meditation want to get to. If you can experience Theta brain waves you have the opportunity to experience not only altered states of mind but also to tap directly into your subconscious and experience many different benefits from doing this.

Experiencing Theta brain waves have been known to:

Improve sleep Improve health and build the immune system Greatly lower stress and anxiety Stop unwanted habits and tendencies Improves emotional stability and much more.

Controlling your brain waves while you meditate is truly the key to experiencing deep meditation and reaping the rewards that come along with it. The best way that I know to be able to experience Theta meditation is through the use of brainwave entrainment products such as binaural beats.

Using Binaural Beats for Deep Meditation

Binaural beats and other brainwave entrainment products can literally allow us to experience Theta brain wave meditation quickly and efficiently. They are scientifically proven and one hundred percent safe. Many people have been using them for years for experiencing altered states of consciousness and deep meditation and they are known for being extremely effective.

There are many different sources for binaural beats and they typically come in MP3 downloads or CD format. If you want to experience different meditation brain waves and low frequencies as well as experience the great benefits that come along with it then binaural beats are definitely the way to go.

You may be aware that meditation has a broad range of health and emotional benefits benefits and would like to try it. However, upon research you discover there are a lot of meditation techniques, but to learn them you have to attend instructional classes. Not only that, they all have to be practiced if you are really going to get any benefits. This process cannot be totally skipped but it can be made shorter and easier with binaural meditation.

The objective of all meditation methods is to get your body and mind into a totally relaxed state..

Each day when you start your tasks your brainwaves will be in the high frequency state of beta. This is the dominant range most of the time during the day. Beta is the frequency range of high mental awareness, task execution, and management.

When you are meditating, you bring brainwave frequencies slower in the lower ranges of alpha and theta ranges. These are the states of relaxation of the mind and body. This is also the entrance to the subconscious mind which can now be accessed to install positive thoughts and attitudes.

If you are trying to meditate with the one of the popular meditation techniques, you have to learn how to maintain a significant degree of mind control. You have to do this in order to achieve a high level of focus, concentration, and ability to relax so that you can reach the lower brainwave frequencies. This is where you have to practice a lot to be able to do this.

When your are trying to meditate, there is a battle between your attempt at mind control and the intrusion of thoughts about daily trials and tribulations. This is known as “mind chatter” and it is constantly trying to dominate your thoughts. It is possible to win this battle but you can make it easier by using a meditation technique with binaural meditation.

A binaural beats download can actually help in getting the brainwave frequencies to slow down. It helps with the meditation process. All that is necessary is to find a quiet and relaxing environment and settle down with your stereo headphones. The technology of the binaural beats downloads can then take over.

If you adopt a consistent and daily schedule of meditation basis, you will be able to realize a broad range of benefits. Everybody has the capacity to meditate and get effective results and it isn’t required to attend classes. Binaural meditation can be easy to learn, will have immediate benefits, is accessible on the internet, and is inexpensive.
