Binaural Beats

Changing your brain with just stereo pair of earphones!Binaural beats are unique sounds created in such a way that they alter the brain wave frequencies of the listener on automatic. Through a method called brain entrainment, binaural beats can alter the mental and physical state of anyone who listens. Analysis has shown that there are brainwaves, like intense relaxation, are more condusive to learning and taking in new information while delta brainwave states create relaxed healing sleep. Until the discovery of binaural beats technology, the only method to make deliberate changes in your brainwave patterns was through deep meditation. Over the millenia this type of meditation has only been possible for practitioners of meditation with over 20 years experience – such as Zen Buddhist Monks.Having said that, when you listen to binaural beats it is now possible for any person to enter all kinds of meditative states within minutes merely by using home headphones and a specifically recorded pre-made brain entrainment recording.Although the science explains the process of brain entrainment is a bit complex to explain the innate premise is easy to to get to grips with. Binaural beats were discovered by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove when he was an Assosiate Professor at the University in Berlin. Prof Dove discovered that when 2 similar sounds, which differ only slightly in frequency, are presented separately to left and right ear (Binaural) they will cause a pulsation or beat type effect to occur in the brain. It was in the late ’70s when Scientific American published the research paper by Dr. Gerald Oster called “Auditory Beats in the Brain”. This paper showed how Dr. Oster took Prof. Dove’s discovery and through research found that by utilizing these binaural beats he could alter the brainwaves of the listener to match the internal beat created by the binaural beats. When this occurred the brainwaves of the listener would always resonate with the same frequency as the binaural beats. Thus Oster discovered that through this technological method he had the ability to change the brainwave frequencies of the listener and incite intentional cerebral states. To you and me this would just be another scientific discovery that has lnothing to do with real life and our everyday routines were it not for the fact that everything you do in life has a corresponding brainwave pattern. Most times the goals you strive for are reliant on the state your brainwaves are in at that moment. Your activities have a dominant frequency associated with each and every one. When you are in a state of deep relaxation when asleep your brain has a definite frequency associated with it with definite patterns such as Theta waves. When you find yourself alert and energized your brain is displaying Beta or even Gamma frequency patterns. After you enter a state of focused relaxation such as enjoying TV, daydreaming or while under the influence of hypnosis, you enter the Alpha state. This is also the state that is entered into with most forms of meditation. However very experienced meditaters, like Zen Buddhist Monks, are able to enter Theta and Delta states while being able to stay extremely consciously aware. These states, would normally take more than twenty years to achieve by practicing meditation, can be induced within a very short using binaural beats.”This all sounds great”, you may say but how does it affect me? You can induce meditative states at will using brain entrainment? How is this of benefit to you and me? In order to answer that question it is best to look at the meditation.
Some of the benefits of meditation include:1. Better relaxation.
2. Deeper more restful and energizing sleep.
3. An increase creativity.
4. A slower aging rate.
5. Letting-go of past negative emotional turmoil.
6. A reduction in Stress.
7. An increase in physical energy.
8. Better focus and concentration.
9. Better retention of studied information.
10. Faster post-operative recovery times.A benefits of meditation list is a small example of the benefits of meditation and this list is certainly not extensive. It is evident then that the benefits of having a means that can induce instant brain states that create healthy changes in mind and body is very desirable. We are very blessed to live in a time where we have access to different forms of this technology from Holosync and Brain Entrainment, designed for major self improvement, to individual Binaural Beats recordings designed to create deliberate states in mind and body. The experiments conducted into binaural beats and its effects shows that this technology delivers on its promises and can be utilized very successfully by everyone. I have listed some resources on the subject for your interest.

Brainwave entrainment is a proven scientific technology that can help you fulfill the potential of your mind. In this article, I’ll dispel the myths that you may have heard about mind power and prove to you that anyone can use this technique.

What is that phrase that you hear all the time? That we only use 10% of our brains? It’s more of a media soundbite but there is a lot of truth to it. There are many people who achieve greater mind control than the average person. Just think of Buddhist monks who are able to meditate and actually block out everything around them – even loud noises.

But the great news is that you don’t need the dedication of a buddhist monk.

What Is Brainwave Entrainment?

Also known as brainwave synchronization, this is a decades old technology that allows you to change the state of your brain using sound.

You might think that “changing brain states” is the stuff of fiction. Not so! Here’s how it works:

Brainwaves

Scientists who study the brain (including sleep) are well aware that the brain enters various states during the course of the day and night. They are able to measure this using EEG and PET scans.

When you sleep you experience Delta waves, when you are drowsy you have Theta waves, you get Alpha waves when you are reflecting, Beta waves when you are alert and Gamma waves for other activities.

Think about it – if you have Theta waves then your brain is not capable of efficient learning. But what if there was a way to naturally tune the brain into an optimum “wave state”?

Audio Tools

Brainwave entrainment is possible in many different ways and allows you to naturally shift the brain into another desired state. It can be done with video but the best way is using audio.

Simply by listening to a special audio track, you can shift your brain into a preferable state. Although you will feel in a better mood, the effect is much more profound than that.

In effect, audio brainwave entrainment allows you to reach a meditative state but without the huge learning curve that most people normally encounter when trying meditation.

Benefits Of Brainwave Entrainment

There are many, many benefits of this technology. Like picking a CD from a music catalogue, you can choose which effects you desire.

Some of the effects that you can choose include: happiness, less stress, energy, excitement, better sleep, better concentration, less anxiety, sharper intuition, better memory recall and more. Basically, you can achieve your true potential that you already know you have within you but have not yet been able to reach.
