Lucid Dream Techniques

Lucid dreams are very surreal experiences that are used by many as an escape from reality. They allow you to acquire superhuman abilities and test certain things or situations that you wouldn’t otherwise do in real life. Inducing a lucid dream is the hardest step — they rarely ever occur naturally, so inducing techniques must be followed. Below are a few easy and proven lucid dream inducing techniques.
Reality checks
While it may sound silly, performing regular reality checks throughout the day is a very successful method. You should ask yourself if you are dreaming as often as possible, and perform a simple test to see whether you are or not. The best and quickest test is to look at your hands and see if they appear normal. Performing reality checks will promote your mind into reality checking while dreaming, so if you notice that something doesn’t appear as it normally does (such as your hands — in dreams they usually appear wavy or are oddly shaped), your mind will acknowledge that you are in fact dreaming and will enter a lucid state.
Convince yourself
Before sleeping, try to convince yourself that you will be conscious within the night’s dream. It’s important to assure yourself in a clear and friendly manner. Do not concentrate only on lucid dreaming until you fall asleep — doing so can actually decrease the chances of experiencing one.
Focus on breathing
While drifting asleep, focus on your breathing and any thoughts that naturally come to mind. Try not to focus on one particular thought.
