Binaural meditation is gaining a large following with spirituality, alternative medicine, and new age writers. This buzz ranges from the blogosphere to the world of magazine publishing. People in yoga, meditation, and tai chi circles are also spreading enthusiasm for the tool through word of mouth. The reason is the effectiveness of using binaural sounds to enhance and ease meditation.
The phenomena of binaural beats was uncovered long before people paid much attention to it. During the late 1970s, an article published in a prestigious popular science magazine spread new interest like a wildfire. Scientists and enthusiasts across the world devoted time and effort into studying and experimenting with the binaural effect.
One of the main uses found for binaural beats is in assisting meditation. They nudge the mind into particular states, based on the arrangement and speed of the beats.
Lucid dreaming is a related use for binaural rhythms. Just as they can adjust the mind to enter a meditative state, they can bring about a mental state appropriate for awareness in dreams.
Binaural meditation takes advantage of a natural phenomena called brainwave synchronization. Put simply, this is the brain matching the speed of consistent pulses of light and sound. Faster pulses cause the brain, and thus the mind and thoughts, to speed up. Slower beats cause the thoughts of the listener to slow, relax, and mellow.
There is a large market of binaural products available to the consumer. You should carefully review all products before making a purchase, as the quality can vary quite a lot from product to product. Software should be offered from reputable companies offering a range of related software. Online software reviews should indicate good results. Recordings you purchase should come with a programmed pattern, not simply a single beat. The accompanying sounds should also be suitable to the purpose. Relaxation programs should be accompanied by relaxing audio.

Binaural Beat meditation is a highly effective way to quickly and easily experience extreme relaxation and greatly enhanced levels of awareness. If you are searching for a way to free yourself from stress and anxieties of daily life, binaural beat meditation is an exciting approach to meditation that can have a profoundly positive impact on your life.
Binaural beats are the result of two sound frequencies played into ear each at the same time. When this happens, the brain tunes into the difference between the two frequencies. When the two frequencies have been “programed” to cause the brain to tune into a frequency associated with deep relaxation and heightened awareness, the user will indeed experience a noticeable change in his or her level of relaxation simply by listening to the beats.
The reason this works is that different brain frequencies have different effects on our state of being. Certain combinations of beats tune the brain to frequencies that can intentionally stimulate heightened states of awareness and deep relaxation.
Far from a baseless New Age trend, the effects of binaural beats were discovered and documented over a hundred years ago. In fact, researchers have performed many scientific studies over the years that have repeatedly shown that the binaural effect does indeed cause the brain to tune into specific frequencies that produce desirable physiological changes.
Some of the extremely positive benefits routinely experienced by practitioners of binaural beat meditation include:
1. Deep relaxation
2. Greatly heightened awareness
3. Improved concentration
4. Boosts of creativity
5. Accelerated learning
6. Greatly improved sleep
7. Lucid dreaming
8. Out of body experiences
9. Reduction of stress and anxiety
How does binaural beat meditation differ from traditional styles of meditation? Well for one thing, it’s a lot easier. All you really need is a comfortable place to sit or lie down, a set of headphones and an MP3 player. Unlike traditional meditation, you don’t have to make an “effort” to meditate, and it doesn’t take weeks, months, or years to learn or do effectively. Simply listen to a binaural audio track, and let the beats take effect.
Binaural meditation audios consist of two beats of different frequencies embedded into a track of gentle, relaxing meditational music. Simply close your eyes and listen to the music, and often within minutes, the beats will tune your brain to a frequency that guides you into a state of extreme relaxation and heightened awareness.
Binaural beats offer a simple yet effective approach to relieving the stresses and anxieties daily life, achieving deep relaxation, and experiencing heightened awareness.

You may be aware that meditation has a broad range of health and emotional benefits benefits and would like to try it. However, upon research you discover there are a lot of meditation techniques, but to learn them you have to attend instructional classes. Not only that, they all have to be practiced if you are really going to get any benefits. This process cannot be totally skipped but it can be made shorter and easier with binaural meditation.
The objective of all meditation methods is to get your body and mind into a totally relaxed state..
Each day when you start your tasks your brainwaves will be in the high frequency state of beta. This is the dominant range most of the time during the day. Beta is the frequency range of high mental awareness, task execution, and management.
When you are meditating, you bring brainwave frequencies slower in the lower ranges of alpha and theta ranges. These are the states of relaxation of the mind and body. This is also the entrance to the subconscious mind which can now be accessed to install positive thoughts and attitudes.
If you are trying to meditate with the one of the popular meditation techniques, you have to learn how to maintain a significant degree of mind control. You have to do this in order to achieve a high level of focus, concentration, and ability to relax so that you can reach the lower brainwave frequencies. This is where you have to practice a lot to be able to do this.
When your are trying to meditate, there is a battle between your attempt at mind control and the intrusion of thoughts about daily trials and tribulations. This is known as “mind chatter” and it is constantly trying to dominate your thoughts. It is possible to win this battle but you can make it easier by using a meditation technique with binaural meditation.
A binaural beats download can actually help in getting the brainwave frequencies to slow down. It helps with the meditation process. All that is necessary is to find a quiet and relaxing environment and settle down with your stereo headphones. The technology of the binaural beats downloads can then take over.
If you adopt a consistent and daily schedule of meditation basis, you will be able to realize a broad range of benefits. Everybody has the capacity to meditate and get effective results and it isn’t required to attend classes. Binaural meditation can be easy to learn, will have immediate benefits, is accessible on the internet, and is inexpensive.

One of the paradoxes of modern life is that as technology makes our life simpler, we somehow find less and less free time. Our dwindling free time unfortunately coincides with an upward trend in stress. As the need for quick relaxation fixes has grown, brain science has merged in an extraordinary way with state-of-the-art technology.
One if its most astounding and beneficial fruits is brain entrainment or “brain synchronization.” In simple terms, brain entrainment is a process where sound causes your brainwaves to sync up and induce states that precisely emulate sleep or meditation. It hinges on the physics’ concept of frequency. Place a vibrating guitar string next to another guitar’s string and it will vibrate at the same frequency. The same thing happens when two unsynchronized pendulum clocks are set side by side. In much the same way, the twin binaural beats create a third tone that causes your brain to alter your brainwaves, thus achieving a naturally created state such as deep meditation. If it sounds like you are training your brain to live in a mode of being that the logical mind has cut it off from, you’re right.
The result is that everyday people like you and me are able to enter deep meditation states, which might take a Buddhist monk months or years to master. What’s really amazing about this technology is that you can experience these deep brainwave states in as little as ten minutes! I’ve practiced Zen in multiple settings over the years and found that on some days there’s a flow and on others it takes a lot of grit just to get through it. Therefore, it did not surprise me when brain entrainment software made meditation faster and better. Why not start or restart your meditation practice with brain entrainment. I would choose brain entrainment over traditional meditation every time. The reason is simple. The binaural sound puts you in such a deep trance that gently affirming positive thoughts or focusing on “letting thoughts go” is never a struggle. While meditation is regarded as a key to optimal health, it is not always enjoyable at the start. In contrast, binaural beats for the binaural mind is literally a “high” for the brain.
Brainwave entrainment has been used to treat a wide array of mental and emotional disorders. Imagine the relief that it can bring to anxiety, depression or the blues that can spread over us during tough times. Brain entrainment takes the mysticism and rigor out of silent meditation. Best of all, it’s fun! Many people even experience transformational visions or positive experiences because of the power of en-training the brain, and the senses it controls.
This advanced technology actually allows the brain to quickly and easily shift your energy to the creative, non-rational right-brain mode. This is tremendously important because another side-effect of our immersion in technology and a culture that worships speed is left-brain dominance. I’ve tried brain entrainment systems that utilize light and other technology, but I suggest you look for a system that has multiple levels of binaural sounds in order to thoroughly and enjoyably rebalance the brain.
So if you feel tension leaving your body, experience intense visualizations and feel heavily sedated, just enjoy.
